Thanks. Like I said, I'm not using the glusterfs public/epel repositories. Do you mean that I should add the public repos ? I don't have any packages from the public repo. So I thought that my system should be internally consistent since all the packages that it has are from RHN. It's the base OS channel that is causing the problems. Disabling the RHSS storage channel doesn't fix it. I have managed to update the rest of the system packages by using --skip-broken and --exclude. The only ones that remain are these:

atest Package Installed Package Related Errata

augeas-libs-1.0.0-7.el6.x86_64 augeas-libs-1.0.0-5.el6_5.1.x86_64

glusterfs-3.6.0.29-2.el6.x86_64 glusterfs-3.6.0.29-1.el6rhs.x86_64 Bug Fix Advisory RHBA-2014:1576-1

glusterfs-api-3.6.0.29-2.el6.x86_64 glusterfs-api-3.6.0.29-1.el6rhs.x86_64 Bug Fix Advisory RHBA-2014:1576-1

glusterfs-fuse-3.6.0.29-2.el6.x86_64 glusterfs-fuse-3.6.0.29-1.el6rhs.x86_64 Bug Fix Advisory RHBA-2014:1576-1

glusterfs-libs-3.6.0.29-2.el6.x86_64 glusterfs-libs-3.6.0.29-1.el6rhs.x86_64 Bug Fix Advisory RHBA-2014:1576-1

glusterfs-rdma-3.6.0.29-2.el6.x86_64 glusterfs-rdma-3.6.0.29-1.el6rhs.x86_64

libsmbclient-3.6.23-12.el6:0.x86_64 libsmbclient-3.6.9-169.1.el6rhs:0.x86_64

samba-3.6.23-12.el6:0.x86_64 samba-3.6.9-169.1.el6rhs:0.x86_64

samba-client-3.6.23-12.el6:0.x86_64 samba-client-3.6.9-169.1.el6rhs:0.x86_64

samba-common-3.6.23-12.el6:0.x86_64 samba-common-3.6.9-169.1.el6rhs:0.x86_64

samba-winbind-3.6.23-12.el6:0.x86_64 samba-winbind-3.6.9-169.1.el6rhs:0.x86_64

samba-winbind-clients-3.6.23-12.el6:0.x86_64 samba-winbind-clients-3.6.9-169.1.el6rhs:0.x86_64

It could also be some sort of a sync issue on the local satellite server here. Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this ? I don't have an easy
way of contacting RH support directly since my subscription is through
school's satellite server.
Yum update fails with http://pastebin.com/qjfvU97r
Even after trying --skip-broken, it fails with http://pastebin.com/rUs9Hrqq
Adding the priorities fixed it for me. Thanks!

Install the yum-plugin-priorities RPM. Add a line "priority=1" to each section of /etc/yum.repos.d/glusterfs-epel.repo.

That's the short term work-around while we come up with an official solution.
