<h1>GlusterFS 2.0.0rc1 Announcement</h1>
<p>We are happy to announce the first RC release of GlusterFS v2.0.
This is a major improvement towards small-file-performance
and scalability. Unify has a better scalable alternative called
"Distribute", an elastic hash based algorithm. AFR has been renamed to
"Replicate" for simplicity. v2.0 is backward compatible with v1.x disk
layout.
We are eagerly waiting to hear feedback from the community before
we call it a stable v2.0.0 release.

Robert pioneered HPC Linux
Cluster work in late 1999 in the seismic industry. By 2001, he had 768
nodes in full production. He was responsible for all production
systems land and vessel in the western hemisphere for the second
largest seismic company at that time as well as global responsibility
for system and data center design. When he left seismic industry to
concentrate on HPC markets, he had roughly 7000 nodes in production
with 450TB SAN, 250TB iSCSI and 2.6PB nearline in production. He has
worked in HPC in fields such as Oil & Gas, Seismic, Genome
Sequencing,
Weather Simulation, Online Gaming, and general purpose HPC clusters
utilizing GlusterFS to achieve remarkable performances. He also
manages/owns the High Performance and Supercomputing group on <a
